Major Space Missions: Revolutionizing Knowledge

Every space missions make us understand more, whether its about the cosmos or Earth-related.

In addition to this, here are the most major and game-changing space missions:

1. Sputnik - 1:- Amidst the cold war between the USSR and U.S, space race was the of one the main part. Space race was started by the USSR by launching the first ever space mission, so called Sputnik - 1. It was a breakthrough in space science and technology. It was sent to orbit the Earth and do some research.

2. Chandrayaan-1:- Chandrayaan-1 was India's first lunar mission. It was launched by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) on 22 October 2008 and lasted until August 2009. The mission had two parts: a lunar orbiter and an impactor (a vehicle which crashes on a planet's body). This mission was a breakthrough for ISRO and for the whole world in terms of space science and technology. It also found water molecules on the surface of the Moon.

3. Chandrayaan-2:- This was the second lunar mission launched by ISRO. Altough it was a partial success, it was still a huge mission.

4. Chandrayaan-3:-This was the 3rd lunar mission launched by ISRO, this mission was a complete success, it contained a lander and a rover, namely Vikram and Pragyan. The lander did a soft landing on the Moon on 18:05 IST (UTC +5:30). Then, the Pragyan rover moved around on the surface of the moon and give some valuable information. This was first mission that landed on the south pole of the Moon.

Aditya-L1:- This mission was ISRO's first solar mission, it was launched to make to study the solar corona.

Mangalyaan:- India's first maritan mission, was a great step for ISRO and India. This mission consisted a orbiter. India became the first country to orbit the Mars at its first try, impressive!

Apollo-11:- This was a truly historic and a massive breakthrough in space travelling, and for manned missions. This was the first lunar manned mission, launched by National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), U.S.

Future Space Missions

Mars Colonization Mission:- The colonization of Mars is the proposed process of establishing permanent human settlements on the planet Mars. Most colonization concepts focus on settling, but colonization is a broader ethical concept, which international space law has limited, and national space programs have avoided, instead focusing on human mission to Mars for exploring the planet. The settlement of Mars would require the migration of humans to the planet, the establishment of a permanent human presence, and the exploitation of local resources.

Mangalyaan-2:- This is a proposed, second martian mission which will be launched by ISRO. This mission will include a Lander and a Rover. ISRO will use aerobraking to lower the apopais for more better observation.
